Decathlon Marketplace

The DECATHLON Marketplace

In order to make sport even more accessible to everyone, Decathlon Sports Ireland Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "DECATHLON" or "we") offers independent third-party sellers (hereinafter referred to as the "PARTNERS") an online intermediation service through the "www.decathlon.ie" website (hereinafter referred to as the "Website"). This service allows consumers to access the PARTNERS' offers and place an order for these offers on the Website.

Legal Information related to the Marketplace and the PARTNERS

In the context of orders for Product(s) from the PARTNERS, the sales contract is formed directly and exclusively between the PARTNER and the consumer. DECATHLON is in no way involved in the formation of the sales contract. The PARTNER is independent in determining its prices and in presenting its Products and the content of its product sheets. DECATHLON thus assumes the role of an online platform operator to enable the connection between the PARTNERS and consumers. The PARTNERS on the Marketplace are businesses within the meaning of the Companies Act 2014.

Ranking of Offers on the Marketplace

In accordance with the Digital Services Act 2024, the provider of an online marketplace must clearly and comprehensibly provide the consumer with the parameters that determine the ranking of offers returned as a result of a search.

On the Website, Products are ranked according to the parameters defined below:

By default, the Products offered on the Website, whether DECATHLON Product(s) or PARTNER Product(s), are ranked according to general categories such as:
• Sports (listed in alphabetical order);
• The categories of people concerned: Women, Men, Children, Babies;
• Accessories or equipment, nutrition products, promotions, brands, second life.

These categories may change depending on seasonal periods.

Consumers can search for a product using these categories, which contain sub-categories and filtering options.

When these categories or sub-categories are selected, the Products—whether sold by DECATHLON or a PARTNER—are displayed by default according to an algorithm based on:
• Commercial performance of the Product on the Website;
• Stock levels;
• Product availability;
• Average rating assigned to the Product;
• Number of images associated with the Product;
• Number of views of the Product page;
• Number of times the Product is added to cart.

Products with higher aggregated scores across these criteria receive better ranking.

Consumers may also use the search engine by entering one or more keywords. Products most relevant to the entered keywords are displayed first.

Some Products may receive preferential ranking when offered by PARTNERS who have either (i) signed a preferred partnership with DECATHLON or (ii) purchased a sponsorship service (e.g., advertising). This preferential ranking is based on economic and commercial considerations and will be indicated next to the relevant offers.

Consumers may modify the default ranking by choosing an alternative sorting option:
• Most relevant;
• Lowest Price;
• Highest Price.

DECATHLON regularly updates this page to reflect any evolution of the ranking parameters used on the Website.
