Who are we?

The birth of Decathlon happened in 1976 with the concept of bringing all sports together under one roof and in 1986 the first store outside of France opened in Germany. Marking the international revolution of affordable sports equipment and even today we are still growing and bringing sports lovers together from all over the world. Decathlon is a sports shop built around its customers. Our company mission is “to sustainably make the pleasure and benefits of sport accessible to the many”. We aspire to share our enthusiasm and love for sport through all the products that we supply. We aim to make sport accessible and affordable to the masses in the hopes that we will inspire generations to stay fit and healthy while they get outside and appreciate everything that nature allows us to do. These sports range anywhere from sailing to football, to hiking, so you will be guaranteed to find the perfect piece of equipment for wherever your passions may lie. The sports gear we supply can be categorised into twelve sections; mountain sports, water sports, cycling, fitness, running, precision sports, team sports, racket sports, martial arts, wild sports, urban sports, and winter sports. Whether you are a beginner to the sport you're buying gear for or a seasoned veteran, we have the perfect equipment for you. Our range varies from the affordable introductory equipment so you can get a taste for the sport to the extremely high-quality professional gear that you need to gain the competitive edge in your sporting career. As well as that, many of our sports have kid's sections, allowing you to get the whole family involved. At Decathlon, we know how important it is to look good as well as have the best gear. Sure, after all, great gear is useless if you won't wear it. That is why all of our wearable gear comes in many different styles, designs, and colours so that you can be sure you will find something you love.
