THE STORY OF THE 100 S AM MOUNTAIN BIKE...
Entirely designed and developed in France at the B'Twin Village (Lille), this mountain bike is the fruit of the work of an expert team of passionate all mountain bikers. The Rockrider team designed and tested the Rockrider 100 S all-mountain bike with their mountain bike testers. For your satisfaction, the Rockrider AM 100 S is assembled in our own factory in Lille, France, just a stone's throw away from our design team. For more information: http://virtual-tour-btwin-village.btwin.com/
Switch and Ride: ONE BIKE, MANY RIDES
The SWITCH & RIDE system is easy: a mountain bike frame compatible with 3 wheel sizes. 1/ You choose your Switch and Ride compatible mountain bike in 27.5", 27.5" Plus, or 29". 2/ You add a 2nd or 3rd pair of wheels. 3/ Enjoy all terrains!
A unisex mountain bike
Men's or women's mountain bike? The Rockrider 100 S AM mountain bike is unisex. For greater comfort, the women on our mountain bike team recommend the Women's 500 Sport saddle, which is adapted to women's bodies.
CHOOSING YOUR MOUNTAIN BIKE SIZE
Several sizes available: S: between 1.55m and 1.64m M: between 1.65m and 1.74m L: between 1.75m and 1.84m XL: between 1.85 m and 1.95 m If you are on the limit between 2 sizes: Choose the smaller size for easier steering (easier to handle) and comfort (straighter back) Choose the larger size for easier pedalling with a more stretched-out position (position more suited to performance).
Frame
FRAME The ROCKRIDER ALL MOUNTAIN frame offers 140 mm of travel on the rear wheel. Its geometry has been optimised for performance: steering angle at 68°, bottom bracket 15 mm under the wheel axle. Made of 6061 and 6013 aluminium. Switch And Ride frame with lifetime warranty: compatible with 27.5" and 27.5" PLUS wheels 148 mm x 12 mm BOOST rear axle. "Press fit 92" bottom bracket. 31.6 mm diameter seat post. Compatible with a bottle cage. Weight in size S: 2.7 kg.
Front Suspension
Have fun on technical terrain! MANITOU Machette AIR front suspension with 140 mm of travel, specific to the ROCKRIDER 100 S AM mountain bike. Hydraulic suspension is both sensitive to small impacts (absorbs the slightest bump at low speed) and takes shocks well (absorbs large obstacles at high speed). Direct locking front suspension (in intermediate position or locked) on the handlebar using the Combo Lock handle. Suspension compatible with 27.5" and 27.5" PLUS wheels
REAR SUSPENSION
Easily adjust to your weight and lock it to the handlebars. MANITOU Mac Leod AIR rear suspension, specifically perfected for the ROCKRIDER 100 S AM mountain bike. Direct locking rear suspension (in intermediate position or locked) on the handlebar using the COMBO LOCK handle, which locks the front and rear suspensions simultaneously.
DRIVETRAIN
Stay focused on your effort with this single chainwheel. SRAM NX drive train, 1x11 single chainwheel, for lighter weight, more precision, faster gear changing, and greater durability. Rack: 30 teeth, easily replaceable (smallest chainwheel has 28 teeth, largest has 34 teeth) without changing the chain. Cassette: SRAM PG1130, 11/42 (11-13-15-17-19-22-25-28-32-36-42). The 42-tooth sprocket guarantees good gear reduction to help you climb the steepest slopes.
HANDLEBAR / STEM / STEERING / GRIPS
Control your steering & stay precise. Rockrider Comp Flat handlebar is 720 mm wide for more stability. 50mm B'TWIN COMP stem Semi-integrated headset with sealed bearings. Lightweight, "lock on" style Rockrider 900 grips screw onto the handlebars.
Brakes
The choice of brakes is both powerful and progressive. Exclusive Rockrider by Tektro brakes with double pistons. 180 mm front disc, 160 mm rear disc.
Saddle / Seat post
The ROCKRIDER XC/AM has an ERGOFIT system for greater comfort while pedalling. The telescoping, hydraulic seat post is height-adjustable, with 120 mm of travel, and can be controlled directly from the mountain bike handlebars. The ability to lower the saddle in a split second with just a flick of the thumb is a true advantage of the All Mountain mountain bike. Feel free (and relaxed!) in your position on the bike during a technical descent.
Wheels
29" Switch & Ride wheels: choose speed and inertia! SUN RINGLE Duroc 30 wheels, with BOOST axles, in 15 mm at the front and 12 mm at the back. Outer rim width: 30mm. Sealed bearings. Equipped with waterproof rim tape, and can fit a Tubeless Ready Tyre. To switch to Tubeless Ready: add a Tubeless valve and tyre sealant, and replace the original tyre with the Tubeless Ready version of the same model (available in Decathlon stores).
Tyres
Grip and move over all types of terrain. Hutchinson TORO 2 tyres, 29 x 2.10. Versatile tyre designed for rides on all types of terrain: smooth, rocky, dry, muddy... Special studs to optimise steering, and sufficiently well spaced out so that they don't get clogged with mud when riding on muddy ground. High side knobs for good grip in the turns.
PEDALS
The bike comes with B'Twin Flat Evo platform pedals. However, for better performance when pedalling and better steering control of the mountain bike, we recommend replacing these pedals with clipless pedals with platforms (not supplied - ref: 5744464 / 8351937 / 8487129).
Easily transport and store your mountain bike
The front and rear wheels can be mounted or removed in one easy step: you just need a hex key (size 6). The rear derailleur has a pin that easily locks and unlocks to mount or remove the rear wheel.
WEIGHT
13.82 kg in size M, without pedals. 13.89 kg in size M, without pedals. 14.16 kg in size L, without pedals. 14.43 kg in size XL, without pedals. The weight can vary based on the tolerance of the components. The complete bike (MTB + fully equipped rider) should not exceed 120kg.
