What are the glide qualities of the REVERSLIDE sledge?
The glide performance of the Decathlon backpack sledge is guaranteed by the glide surface and the curve of the shell.
Directional runners allow you to sledge in a straight line.
What are the trajectory control features of the REVERSLIDE sledge?
For turns, the curves of the REVERSLIDE sledge on the sides make it easier to control the trajectory.
To turn, use the pressure of your feet and your body (weight and shoulders).
The curves of the shell let you slalom.
How to slow down and brake with the REVERSLIDE sledge
To slow down, it is important to keep your feet parallel to the slope and to "brake" by pressing both feet into the snow.
To brake, you can also use a 90° turn.
Throw yourself from the sledge for an emergency stop.
Why use a leash with the REVERSLIDE sledge?
We recommend using a leash attached to the sledge and your waist to keep it close to hand if you fall. It also lets you tow the sledge, if needed.
What makes the REVERSLIDE backpack innovative?
A backpack for going uphill that can be transformed into a sledge for going downhill… a one-of-a-kind product for an up-and-coming winter sport: sledge hiking! For uphill, straps attach to the shell, so that you can carry the bag on your back and hike comfortably. For downhill, the straps can be stored in the bag, and a handle can be added to turn the shell into a bona fide sledge! It's one of a kind!
How to convert the REVERSLIDE into a sledge and backpack
This product can be converted into a backpack or a sledge thanks to its modular parts:
- In backpack mode for going uphill: clipped straps.
The adjustable shoulder straps and waist belt make it comfortable to carry. The sledge container can carry everything you need (helmet, goggles, gloves, jacket, snacks and water bottle).
- In sledge mode for going downhill: clipped handle.
You're ready to sledge. The straps, poles and snowshoes are stored in the shell.
What do you need for the uphill phase of sledge hiking with the REVERSLIDE backpack sledge?
When climbing:
- Snowshoes (max. L: 60 cm, max. W: 21 cm)
- 3-section telescopic poles, to be able to store them in the bag when descending
- A jacket, a pair of ski trousers or a ski suit
- Base layers
- A pair of ski boots or spare shoes for the après-ski
What do you need for the descent phase when sledge hiking with the REVERSLIDE backpack sledge?
When descending:
- A leash to attach to your waist and the sledge.
- For ascending: trousers, base layers, base jacket, ski jacket and snow boots.
- A ski helmet
- A ski map
- Ski gloves
- A pair of gaiters to limit snow getting in at the lower legs.
Is the REVERSLIDE sledge suitable for children?
More technical than an ordinary sledge, we recommend this sledge for children aged 14 and over (160 cm to 190 cm tall), so that they can really enjoy the descent.
