TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Can I be sure that my jacket is warm enough for my winter hikes?

We developed your short jacket for wintry conditions: cold, rain and snow. The wadding insulation: 200 g/m² body and 150 g/m² arms. The lined hood also keeps your head well protected and warm.

The elastic cuffs on the jacket hem and sleeves are the finishing touch to ensure your jacket is comfortable.

How does my jacket protect me from outdoor conditions?

Your short jacket is designed with a waterproof outer component that keeps out water and wind. To keep you warm in winter you must also protect your extremities (head, hands, feet). The warm hood, the elastic tightening at the cuffs and the high collar prevent the cold from entering. Two warm pockets in extremely soft fleece protect your hands from the cold.

WATERPROOFNESS OF THIS JACKET

The waterproofness of a jacket isn’t limited to just its components: the assembly technique of the different parts is also an evaluation criterion.

Whether heat-sealed or sewn then waterproofed, the overall waterproofness of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rain of different intensities.

As such, this waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e. 12 cm of rain in 2 hours.

COMPONENT WATERPROOFING OF THIS JACKET

The impermeability of a fabric, provided by a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H²0 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.

This jacket has a waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 12,000 mm H²0 (Schmerber) before washing.

Water often gets in through the seams. Does my jacket have taped seams?

Your short jacket is waterproof thanks to its fully taped seams. Waterproof tape is added to the seams inside the garment to make them watertight so that water cannot enter through the more vulnerable areas.

We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower. We also wore it in the field in all weather conditions to make sure that it is suited to your activities.

A short practical jacket with smart details

Practical and smart details: 2 handwarmer pockets, 4 secure outer pockets, 1 secure inner pocket, 1 mesh inner pocket to keep your belongings close at hand.

Warm hood with removable fur to adapt to your needs and style.

A comfortable, unique style short jacket for the cold weather

We designed this short jacket with a comfortable fit so that it could be worn with a warm second layer such as a fleece.

Its short jacket style is ideal for protecting you from the cold during your winter hikes in town or in the mountains.

Will my short jacket withstand regular use over time?

To ensure the durability of our products, we perform tests on the selected components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colour fastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests have been carried out on the component of your short jacket.

How to preserve the technical qualities of my short jacket?

A fabric's water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.

How to dress properly for snow hiking?

To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:

layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.

layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards.

layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.

The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.

How does my product warranty work?

This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.
