TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

RCX II

Our new cyclocross bike will have you buzzing during winter rides on CX courses. It's playful and agile and stands out from the crowd with its race performances.

This frame features numerous improvements on the previous RCX, most notably better mud shedding where the seat tube joins the seat stay.

The main triangle has been raised and the shape of the head tube has been adapted so you can more easily get your shoulder under it when carrying your bike.

Frame and fork

100% carbon frame and fork

UCI-approved frame

Cable routing through the down tube.

Frame weight: 940 g (M)

Fork weight: 440 g

Drive train

New SRAM FORCE AXS 12-speed groupset. This electric drive train is very precise and extremely fast. Changing gears becomes child's play, even on a steep slope! The system functions with a removable external battery located on the rear derailleur. To optimise the use of your SRAM Force groupset, we recommend downloading the SRAM CONNECT app.

SHIFTER: SRAM FORCE

REAR DERAILLEUR: SRAM FORCE AXS

CHAIN: SRAM

Drive train maintenance

Please note that it is important to regularly service your drive train, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads).

Regular maintenance will help your drive train to last for longer.

You should regularly check your chain with our chain wear indicator,

which is available on our website.

REYNOLDS AR41 WHEELS

The Reynolds tubeless AR41 wheels have a 40mm profile, meaning that they are shaped and sized for speed.

The rim profile was specially designed to minimise wind resistance while making for a dynamic wheel.

The 21mm internal width is particularly well-suited to wide tyres, a total width of 30 mm to ensure very good stiffness.

Reynolds TR3 hub with just a 10° engagement for excellent reactivity

The frame accepts 40 mm tyres

Tyres

VITTORIA TERRENO MIX CX 33 mm tyres. This versatile tyre has a 120 TPI nylon carcass.

TUBELESS READY: Yes

We very strongly recommend riding tubeless with sealant for greater comfort and to reduce the risk of punctures.

The tyres are fitted without sealant, please follow the procedure below to finalise the preparation before using the bottle supplied (60 ml per tyre): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vv6t7gapiIE

Brakes

The SRAM Force brakes are hydraulic. This gives you progressive, more powerful braking than with cable-actuated hydraulic brakes.

160 mm front and rear discs.

You will need to bed these brakes in. Simply brake gradually 20 times at a low speed (20 km/h), then repeat at 30 km/h. Make sure to bed in both brakes.

Bedding in creates more friction between the disc and brake pad.

Hydraulic brake maintenance

Hydraulic brakes function using a closed circuit between your brake lever and your caliper.

There is a hose to maintain the seal.

With time, you'll see a normal loss of pressure in your hoses, leading to a loss of braking efficiency. When your brake guard is too soft, or you stop short against your handlebar, you need to bleed your system. This requires specific tools and knowledge.

Warning and adjustment

Please note: never squeeze the brakes without a wheel being attached, as you could get the brake pads stuck together.

If your disc touches, follow these instructions to re-align the wheel and the caliper:

- Loosen the wheel axle

- Brake hard and tighten the axle at the same time

- If the rotor is still touching the brakes, do the same thing and loosen the caliper

- If you're unable to resolve the issue, please visit one of our workshops.

MAINTAINING YOUR BIKE

Remember that cross-country and gravel bikes need particular care. They are often subjected to very tough conditions that are more demanding on the materials. Regular maintenance is essential to keep your bike in good condition. The drivetrain needs to be changed more frequently than on a road bike. You should tighten the axles, seat clamp, stem etc. frequently.

CAN YOU DO GRAVEL RIDING WITH THIS BIKE?

Gravel is a generic term that covers a lot of different situations.

This bike is first and foremost a cross-country bike. The axles are not reinforced and so the bike is not suitable for carrying heavy loads.

The frame does not have holes for attaching a pannier rack or mudguards.

However, you can use it outside cross-country races with the right tyres, although the wheels are not designed for rocky downhill rides.

Lifespan of a drive train

When buying a bike, it's important to take into account the cost of servicing it, especially as regards the drive train.

The amounts below are averages and are given so that you have a general idea of what to expect. They will of course vary depending on the care you take of your drive train.

The average lifespan of a well-maintained cyclocross chain is 4000 km

The average lifespan of a cyclocross cassette is 6000-10,000 km

Which size?

Please refer to the bike frame geometry table.

If you're between sizes, a shorter bike is better if you want something more responsive and lively. However, if you want to be comfortable when riding long distances, the bigger size is your best bet.
