- A gi adapted to your styleThere are many different styles of karate: The French federation includes 32 karate styles. With its short sleeves and bottoms and long jacket, your uniform has a traditional Japanese cut which highlights your technique, particularly during katas. With overstitching at the bottoms of the sleeves and hems of the bottoms and jacket, the uniform is more weighted: it feels more fluid and improves its aesthetics when you perform your techniques. Sold without belt
- What is the uniform made from?To support you as you progress in karate, we've developed this 100% cotton uniform that is suitable both for combat techniques and advanced katas: With its 310g/m² (11 oz) grammage, heavier and more rigid, your uniform highlights the aesthetics and techniques of your katas and has a rigidity that adds an improved effect to your movements. The size of your uniform will stabilise after several washes.
- The design of the 500 karate uniformRegardless of your style, this uniform is attractive, technical and suited to your practice: - The cut of the bottoms is designed for use with foot and shin guards - The jacket is nipped-in at the hips for an elegant look - The looseness of the jacket across the chest allows you to execute all your arm-based techniques without restriction - The slits on the sides of the jacket provide greater freedom of movement for all your leg movements, even in low positions.
- Which size should you choose?Uniforms range from 150 to 200 cm. We recommend choosing a uniform which is at least 5 cm bigger than your height. For example, if you're 1.75 m tall, choose a 180 cm gi.Here's a guide to help you choose: - 150 cm: Bottoms size 2-4 - 160 cm: Bottoms size 6-8 - 170 cm: Bottoms size 10-12 - 180 cm: Bottoms size 16 - 190 cm: Bottoms size 20 - 200 cm: Bottoms size 24
- Our design team talks about our new range of uniforms:"We had quite a bit to rethink - we started from scratch. The priorities were reworking the fabrics and cut to create uniforms that were attractive but which still looked like karate uniforms. Most of all, we wanted to give karatekas what they needed." Next, dozens of prototypes made and tests were performed with about 20 karatekas until we got every detail just right.
- Enrique, Outshock product manager and black belt in karate, explains his version of the uniforms"I hope that our uniforms will win over even the most demanding purists. We wanted to identify what the dogi means to us, the importance of form and technique, following the movement of the body. The dogi helps you embody the form and technique of your karate."
