How to adjust your backpack?
Position the bag at the correct height and adjust it. With the belt on your hips, put the straps around the front part of your shoulders. The load adjuster straps (which are sometimes also height-adjustable) must be at an angle of around 45°. If, during testing, the back seems too short or too long, re-adjust and try again until satisfied. https://conseilsport.decathlon.fr/tips/what-to-take-in-your hiking bag - teen-tp_9840
Lab tests
We complete laboratory tests to certify components: fabrics, buckles, straps, foam, zips... for example, for a fabric: resistance to abrasion & tearing, colour-fastness in UV light, resistance to washing, waterproofing, etc. A test is then conducted on the product replicating the accelerated demands on the backpack over a number of years to check the strength of the assembly: the backpack is weighted, then placed on a dummy which reproduces the movement of fast walking over thousands of cycles.
10-year technical partnership guarantee
The heavy fabric research and development department, Quechua's partner for researching and testing its components and assemblies, conducted tests simulating the ageing of rucksacks. The tests focused on components, seams and the end product. As a result of these tests, Quechua can guarantee all bags tested for a duration of 10 years from the date of purchase indicated on the sales receipt.
10-year guarantee, conditions
The guarantee covers any backpack faults, except those caused by normal wear and tear and improper use. This special 10-year guarantee can only be granted upon presentation of the product and receipt. If the product is covered by the warranty, it will be repaired or exchanged free of charge. This sales warranty does not affect the statutory rights applicable in your country and/or State.
How is bag volume measured?
The volume of each backpack is measured using a standard method: we fill the main compartment as well as each pocket with little balls. Then we empty these balls into a graduated container, which gives the equivalent volume in litres.
The Easyfit system
It is possible to adjust your backpack in a single intuitive step to fit your body shape while it is on your back: for maximum comfort.
How to adjust your Forclaz EasyFit backpack
1 - Loosen all the straps (straps, hip belt, load adjuster straps). 2 - Put the backpack on. 3 - Place the belt on the hips (it should go around the hip bones) and tighten it. 4 -Tighten the shoulder straps. 5 - Pull the Easyfit straps and the strap block will go around your shoulders. 6 - Adjust the load adjuster straps as needed.
EasyFit effectiveness tests are carried out by our Research and Development teams
User-friendly design: adjustment time is actually 2 to 3 times quicker with the Easyfit backpack and the number of corrections = 0 for the Easyfit bag. Does not affect the quality of adjustment compared to a bag with standard adjustment: EasyFit was rated significantly more comfortable on a 4% Friedmann statistical test; users also noted better adjustments 6 times more often.
How to pack a backpack?
Put your bedding at the bottom. Place heavy gear (tent, camp stove, food) near your back. Pack your clothes around these items. The groundsheet should be placed under the flap and the tent beneath the pack if there is no space inside. Keep a waterproof jacket and/or fleece close to hand. Place small items for daily use (sun cream, map, glasses etc.) in the pockets. If carrying a hydration pack (water bladder), this should be placed in its special pocket along the back.
