Sodium butyrate is a short-chain fatty acid that plays a crucial role in maintaining the health of the gastrointestinal tract. It serves as the primary energy source for colonocytes (cells lining the colon), supporting their growth, repair, and overall function. This is particularly important for individuals experiencing digestive discomfort, chronic constipation, bloating, or inflammatory bowel conditions. The anti-inflammatory properties of butyric acid help reduce the secretion of inflammatory mediators in the intestinal mucosa, which can alleviate symptoms associated with irritable bowel syndrome and other gut disorders. By strengthening the intestinal barrier, sodium butyrate also helps reduce the risk of allergies and systemic inflammation. The unique microencapsulation technology used in Allnutrition Sodium Butyrate SR ensures that the active ingredient is protected from stomach acid and released gradually along the entire length of the intestine. This slow-release mechanism not only improves bioavailability but also ensures a stable concentration of butyric acid, maximising its therapeutic benefits.
