CLICK UP+ is an innovative manual braking belay device, the evolution of the CLICK UP already on the market for seven years. Designed specifically for indoor and outdoor climbing, it is compatible with all dynamic single ropes with a diameter of 8.5 to 11 mm. Compact and lightweight, it allows for belaying the climber both on lead and top rope. The following features make the new CLICK UP truly +: more efficiency and smoothness when giving slack quickly and without jerks, thanks to the new geometry of its shell and the new carabiner retention system (patent pending); more comfort for top rope belaying, even indoors with indoor climbing ropes, thanks to the new geometry of the cheeks; safer due to the V-Proof system (patented), which reduces risks in case of improper positioning of the free end of the rope during blocking; more ergonomic thanks to the new shape of the outer shell. Like the previous model: it allows stopping a fall by holding the free end of the rope with one hand; to lower the climber, simply apply light pressure with the thumb or hand on the device while maintaining tension on the free end of the rope with the other hand; it guarantees effective belaying even if the rope is incorrectly inserted into the device (sides of the rope reversed), thanks to the V-shaped braking grooves. V-PROOF SYSTEM In climbing a route, there are particularly critical phases for the belayer (giving slack to the climber or taking in the rope). If the climber falls at this precise moment, it is normally necessary to ensure that the two strands of the rope always form the largest possible angle (obtuse) on each side of the belay device. Reducing this angle could affect the proper functioning of the belay device at the moment of blocking the rope. The V-Proof system.
