The Holmenkol Racing Black Bar Red is the all-rounder of the series. It covers the temperature range in which most races take place and features the improved, next-generation carbon matrix.
Holmenkol Racing Black Bar Red—the mid-range option
Red is designed for snow temperatures ranging from -4 to -10 degrees and works well on fine to coarse as well as wet snow. If it gets warmer, Yellow (0 to -4 degrees) is the better choice; for really cold snow, Blue (-8 to -15 degrees) is rmmended. If you only want to carry one bar in your case, go with Red.
Here’s how to use it
Clean the base, apply the wax by ironing at 115 to 125 degrees, let it cool, peel it off, and brush it out with a nylon and horsehair brush. Depending on the application thickness, a 150-g bar is enough for about 15 to 25 pairs of alpine skis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the wax fluorocarbon-free? Yes, the entire Racing Black Bar series is fluorine-free and complies with the regulations of international skiing federations.
What’s the difference between these and the FF World Cup Bars? The matrix has been further developed with a specially adapted carbon modification for more speed and greater abrasion resistance.
Is one bar enough for a season? Easily enough for one to two pairs of skis. For race teams, the wax is also available in a backshop format.
