The MSR Mugmate Coffee/Tea Filter is the ultimate solution for adventurers who refuse to compromise on the quality of their warm drinks. Whether you're watching the sun rise on a remote mountain peak or taking a break during a long bike trip, this compact filter ensures a perfect extraction of your favorite coffee grounds or loose-leaf tea. The design focuses on maximum simplicity and efficiency, allowing you to leave heavy coffee makers or disposable filters at home. Adventure simply tastes better with a fresh cup of coffee in your hands, right in the heart of the mountains.
The filter is designed to slide effortlessly into most standard mugs and cups. Thanks to its low weight and flat shape, there is always a spot for it in your backpack or pannier. Ease of use is paramount: you add the coffee or tea, pour hot water over it, and your drink is ready within minutes. The durable construction ensures you can rely on this filter time and again, regardless of the conditions of your journey.
Technically, the Mugmate features an extremely fine stainless steel mesh that traps even the smallest particles, resulting in a clear and rich flavor without sediment. The frame is made of high-quality, heat-resistant plastic that can withstand intensive use and high temperatures. The wide top rim ensures the filter rests stably on the edge of the mug while brewing. This prevents spills and guarantees safe handling of hot water.
A major advantage of this technical design is the easy cleaning. Since the filter has no loose parts, you can easily rinse it clean under a tap or in a stream after use. The fine mesh dries quickly, so the filter can be stored away almost immediately. By eliminating paper filters, you reduce the amount of waste you have to carry back from the wild, significantly simplifying the logistics of your trip.
