The PD-R8000 features a composite carbon body combining stiffness and low weight. The stainless steel insert reinforces the contact area to withstand wear from shoe contact and pedal stresses.
The enlarged contact area improves the transfer of rider power to the pedal, reducing losses during sprints and sustained efforts. This design promotes more efficient pedalling for road use.
The axles have been slightly lowered (-0.7 mm) compared with the previous generation for an optimised pedalling position. The wide spacing between bearings ensures better load distribution and high stability under load.
The sealed bearings avoid regular maintenance and ensure reliable longevity. The adjustable release tension allows tuning of engagement/disengagement to the rider's level and preference.
Supplied with SM-SH11 cleats offering ±6° lateral float. These pedals are compatible with SPD-SL shoe and cleat systems for road riding, particularly suited to riders seeking performance and lightness.
