Berkeley is where our story began, and The North Face®'s original Back-To-Berkeley IV Lifestyle Boots were created in the 1960s with hiking in mind. This version draws inspiration from our past and is designed for durability with a waterproof DryVent membrane and nickel-free hardware. This season, we've updated our bestselling Berkeley boot with a full-grain leather upper and a mesh lining made from 100% recycled PET. The leather used for the collar, suede logo patch, and hem comes from tanneries certified by the Leather Working Group, making it a better choice for the world around us. The rubber compound provides excellent grip and durability on wet and dry surfaces. The fabric provides effective protection from rain and snow, ensuring complete dryness. Our unique material technology allows air to flow through the material, helping regulate body temperature and keeping you fresher for longer. The material blocks wind to reduce chilling. The mesh lining is made from 100% recycled PET. The padded tongue provides step-in comfort. Molded EVA midsole. Up to 51% of the EVA used in the midsole is made from plant-based ethylene (not petroleum-based), in accordance with ASTM D6866-16. Compression-molded TPU heel clip further enhances stability. The Surface CTRL rubber outsole is optimized for weight and versatility, and made with 10% rubber sourced from smallholder farms that practice agroforestry and regenerative agriculture practices.
