Binding release standard
Be aware that many back country ski bindings are not standardised
the binding releases thanks to a spring. The standard is represented by a scale called the DIN setting. In theory, a skier weighing 80 kg will adjust their binding to 8. In reality, they need to take into account their level of skiing, physical fitness and the snow conditions.
What type of snow brake should you choose?
Warning, certain back country skiing bindings do not have brakes but instead have a leash
the choice of snow brakes should depend on the length of the ski (waist width)
