Design details

Inflating Power of down/feather filling
For this down jacket filled 75/25, the inflating power of the down/feather is guaranteed to be greater than or equal to 540 CUIN. The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. Down with higher fill power takes up more space, trapping more air and providing greater thermal insulation.
The benefits of duck down and feather filling (for the back and front of the jacket)
The durability and fill power properties of down give this jacket 3 qualities for hiking: - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers - Ultra low weight: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack - Ultra-compressible
Feather origin
Thanks to our traceability system, we can guarantee the origin of the feathers in accordance with our commitment to use responsible materials. Our suppliers are committed to using only feathers that come from ducks that are bred for their meat and which are plucked after slaughtering. http://developpement-durable.decathlon.com/documents-et-rapports/documents/
The advantages of synthetic down filling (for the arms, sides and hood)
Synthetic down (wadded) filling provides an appealing alternative to feather down: - it provides good thermal insulation when damp - it increases breathability and is recommended for dynamic exercise (feathers are recommended for static or moderate activity)
Care advice for a down jacket filled with down and feathers
The down jacket can be worn throughout the year and will certainly need to be washed.
In case of rain
The material of the quilted jacket is water repellent. This means that drops of water roll off the fabric preventing them from soaking into the padded jacket as quickly, giving you time to find some shelter. But the down jacket is not waterproof. We therefore recommend wearing a waterproof jacket over the down jacket in the event of prolonged exposure to rain.
