Groundsheet for MT500 Mesh 2P tent
A ground sheet, sold separately (reference: 8933562), has been designed to provide additional protection for the MT500 Mesh 2P tent. This groundsheet helps reduce abrasion and increases the tent's waterproofing (by limiting moisture rising from the ground). It also means the tent can be pitched as a tarp, without the inner tent.
Weight
Total weight 2.6 kg Components can be separated for shared carrying Flysheet 822 g Bedroom 826 g Pole kit 600 g Pegs (12 pieces) 180 g Guys (4 pieces) 40 g Cover 83 g + peg pack 20 g Repair kit (ferrule) 20 g Weights, volumes, and dimensions may vary slightly due to manufacturing tolerances.
Waterproofing
Forclaz tents are laboratory-tested: pitched tent, 200 litres/sqm/hour (3 hours, equivalent to a tropical storm). They are also tested in the field by a sample user group. 75 denier polyester (PE) flysheet, polyurethane-coated (interior) water-repellent treatment (exterior), P75D bedroom floor cover. Seams taped with heat-sealed strips.
Repairs and After-sales service
As designers, we care about the durability of our products. That's why all our tents are designed to be repairable. You will find spare parts in your Decathlon store workshop, on our website or at support.decathlon.co.uk Bedroom reference: 8795876 Flysheet reference: 8795875
Durability
Your tent is designed for wild bivouacking, it is therefore not designed for static use in the sun. We recommend that you avoid leaving it in the sun as the light fabrics can be sensitive to UV light that weakens them.
Size and living space
Bedroom length 210 cm. Width 120cm. Inside height 108 cm (at its highest). Two 60cm-deep side porches (storage space between the bedroom and flysheet) can each accommodate a backpack of about 50 to 70 litres, mountain equipment and a pair of hiking shoes. 2 pockets in bedroom. 1 inner hook at the top for hanging a lamp and an adjustable horizontal clothes line.
Pitching
Separate flysheet and bedroom. Traditional pitching method. Once the bedroom is pitched on the ground, put the 2 main poles in place and clip on the bedroom. Add the yellow cross pole by placing it over the 2 main poles and attach it to the bedroom. Cover the whole tent with the flysheet. Adjust the tautness. Intuitive pitching thanks to colour coding on the pole, bedroom and flysheet.
Ventilation
We created this tent for summer use. The inner bedroom is made from mesh fabric for optimal ventilation. A reclosable zipped shutter adjusts the air flow at head level. The cut of the flysheet is designed to encourage air flow towards the inner bedroom. It's finished off with 2 high vents. The bedroom can be used without the flysheet. You can spend a night under the stars looking at the Milky Way.
