Hood
The Alpinism Light jacket hood is large enough to wear over a mountaineering helmet. It is height and depth adjustable according to your needs. A semi-rigid visor offers better forehead and eye protection. The high collar provides protection for the lower part of your face.
Pockets
The pockets are positioned to be used as hand warming as well as for being accessible when wearing a harness over the jacket. The Alpinism Light jacket is also equipped with an inner zip pocket.
Garment waterproofing
The Alpinism Light was approved in a shower test under 100 litres of water / sq.m. / hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain downpour. For all additional information, consult the Novadry.com website
Component waterproofing
We measure a fabric's resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure resistance, the more waterproof the fabric. Components 2000 mm waterproofing, resists up to 2000 mm of water pressure (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours). With waterproofing greater than 10000 mm, the Alpinism Light jacket offers an extremely high level of waterproofing.
Zips
The Alpinism Light jacket's main zip is a new generation zip offering the same waterproof properties as classic silicone zips (similar to pocket zips) while being more flexible, which improves the jacket's compression when packed away. Plus, this zip is easier to handle, contributing to enhance its durability. The 2-way zip allows you to use a harness under the jacket. The zip pulls are easier to handle with gloves.
Component breathability
On top of the main fabric's breathability of (RET = 8), the choice of a mesh net lined pocket helps improve the jacket's thermal comfort. This lining is more likely to prevent the build up moisture than a pocket lining made with the jacket's main fabric. Moreover this helps air to circulate through the jacket by opening the pockets. The adjustments at the hem (tightens with elasticated drawcord and toggle) and cuffs (riptab strap) allow you to adjust the air flow through these areas.
