The Talbot-Torro ELI Junior Badminton Racket is designed for children ages 6 to 8. It features a teardrop-shaped head that moves the sweet spot towards the top of the racket, helping children with coordination issues. This design ensures that even late reactions result in hitting the sweet spot. With a shorter shaft of just 58 cm, the racket is lightweight and easy to handle, preventing ground contact. The unique learning grip is oval, which can be uncomfortable in incorrect holding positions. All ELI rackets come with an innovative grip tape concept that uses color markings to guide correct finger placements for forehand and backhand strokes. The different colors on each side assist coaches in monitoring grip technique. The sturdy construction combines a hardened steel shaft and lightweight aluminum head, making it approximately 20g lighter than a pure steel racket. Total weight including stringing: 97g; maximum recommended string tension: 7 kg. The ELI concept (Easy Learning Initiative), developed by Talbot-Torro in collaboration with former national badminton coach Holger Hasse, promotes early youth training. It enhances the popular BISI series, a reference in school badminton for over a decade. The ELI series includes various rackets tailored for different age groups, progressing from the ELI Mini (around age 4) to the ELI Junior (around age 6) and ELI Teen (ages 8-10) to ELI Advanced (age 10 and up). Additionally, the ELI concept includes the ELI Ball, a robust shuttlecock made from high-quality, durable nylon. Talbot-Torro is a German-British brand founded by Derek Talbot, a former elite British badminton player who significantly influenced the sport's Olympic inclusion. The brand leads the Central European market in recreational badminton, emphasizing quality technology and fair pricing.
