So avoid applying it directly to the skin before exposure to the sun or UV radiation, as this may cause skin irritation. We recommend diluting the essential oil in a carrier oil before topical use. We recommend performing a skin sensitivity test by diluting a small amount of essential oil and applying it to a small area of skin before using it more widely. If redness, itching or any adverse reaction occurs, stop using the essential oil immediately. It is advisable to consult a health professional before using bergamot essential oil on pregnant women, young children and people with particular health problems or taking specific medications.
