Sold and shipped by Outdoor Food
When you are deep into a road trip or parked at a remote campsite, finding that one specific snack at the bottom of a packed cooler can be a challenge. The Dometic Recon Drop-In Basket is designed to take the stress out of your food management. By adding an extra layer of organization, it allows you to separate smaller, delicate items from heavier bottles or ice packs. This means your sandwiches stay dry and your fruit remains unbruised, even when the road gets rough. The ease of use is central here; you simply drop the basket into the top of your Recon Hardside cooler, and it sits securely, ready to be filled with your essentials.
The adventurous spirit often leads to bumpy tracks and uneven terrain, but your equipment should remain silent and stable. This basket features integrated rubber rims that fulfill a dual purpose. First, they provide a non-slip grip that keeps the basket firmly in place, even during sharp turns or steep climbs. Second, the rubber acts as a buffer, preventing the annoying rattling sounds that often occur with plastic-on-plastic contact in a moving vehicle. Because the walls are completely transparent, you can see exactly what is stored inside the basket and what lies beneath it without having to remove everything. This visibility helps you find what you need quickly, reducing the time the cooler lid stays open and helping to maintain the internal temperature.
Technically, the basket is constructed from high-quality Tritan™. This material is known for its incredible impact resistance and clarity, making it ideal for the rigors of travel. It is entirely BPA-free, ensuring that your food remains safe and untainted. The design is specifically optimized for the Dometic Recon Hardside series, fitting perfectly into the internal dimensions of the cooler. By elevating your food above the ice, you prevent items from becoming waterlogged as the ice melts. This smart use of space maximizes the internal volume of your cooling system, allowing you to pack more efficiently for longer trips. The lightweight yet robust build ensures that it adds minimal weight to your setup while providing maximum utility.
