The loose ring snaffle with copper pad is becoming a popular bit. It is suitable for horses with large tongues or small mouths, as the copper pad and the double joint reduce the nutcracker effect of a single joint bit. This bit is very similar to the French link snaffle, but the smooth center pad gives a slightly more positive action on the tongue than the flat plate of the French link snaffle. The double joint is often preferred by horses because the lack of pressure on the roof of the mouth makes the bit more comfortable and the pressure is evenly distributed on the tongue and mouth bars. The ergonomic copper pad is warm and encourages the horse to salivate and accept the bit. Made of stainless steel, the most commonly used material for horse bits, it is durable, easy to clean, tasteless and will not rust. Ideal for many horses and most equestrian disciplines. Measurements According to our size guide, the A and B measurements of this bit are: A=16mm B=65mm Stainless Steel Horse Bits... Stainless steel is the most common material used for horse bits because it is durable, easy to clean and does not rust.
