Trail is adventure, strong emotions, and pleasure. Exploring wild places and pleasant trails. To get the most out of every outing, you need to rely on your gear. This is especially true for your wheels, as their role is essential in the overall feel of your ride. That's where the new Crossmax XL comes in, the best aluminium trail wheel we've ever designed. The rim construction uses our Fore technology, featuring a fully sealed upper bridge, which eliminates the need for a rim strip. This way, each wheel weighs 30 grams less and saves the cyclist from having to install a rim strip before fitting a tubeless tyre. The internal width of the rim, 30 mm, is perfect for optimising the performance of all modern trail tyres. Its highly resistant triangular profile is specifically designed to absorb shocks from the terrain. Our Black Shield technology gives it a unique finish, ensuring protection against scratches and abrasion. To achieve the delicate balance between lateral stiffness and vertical compliance, we use 24 straight spokes. The hubs benefit from a stiffer and lighter structure, further enhanced by the reliable ID360 dual ratchet system for quick engagement. This pair of wheels is designed for 6-bolt or Center Lock disc brakes, and is compatible with Shimano HG9, SRAM-XD, and Micro Spline freehub bodies. Available only in 29' and compatible with Boost axle standards (front 15x110, rear 12x148), it comes with UST Tubeless valves, spare spokes, and accessories. Key features Versatility and dynamism for trail performance Wide, durable rim profile with Black Shield treatment (protection against shocks and scratches). New Infinity hub platforms that are lighter and stiffer, with a reliable ID360 freehub body for instant acceleration. More confidence and control on tough terrain The 30 mm wide rim is optimised to allow for lower tyre pressures, providing smoother handling, better traction, and improved manoeuvrability. The triangular rim profile absorbs the roughest shocks: engage on the descents! Very user-friendly tubeless system The rim, completely sealed without a rim strip thanks to Fore technology, makes mounting and changing tubeless tyres easier. The upper bridge is unperforated, which helps reinforce the rigidity and durability of the rim.
