Galfer takes its Shark line to the next level with the new Shark® EVO disc for ATVs.Galfer, a global leader in mountain bike braking solutions, combines decades of experience with cutting-edge innovation, performance, and reliability. Its commitment to technical excellence has made it a trusted brand in disciplines such as downhill (DH), enduro, and electric-assist mountain biking (e-MTB).Following the success of the original Shark disc launched in 2022, Galfer is expanding its iconic lineup with the new Shark® EVO disc for mountain bikes, designed for riders seeking uncompromising performance.First unveiled at Eurobike 2025, the Shark® EVO disc is now officially launched and available on the market in 2026. An intensive development process has resulted in this ultimate high-tech version; it marks a significant evolution from the previous model and meets the latest 2026 performance standards. This new model raises the technological bar even higher, while retaining the DNA of innovation and reliability that has made the Shark family a trusted choice among both professional and amateur riders. The new Shark® EVO disc is the only brake disc on the market featuring the original Kashima coating, a high-end technology previously reserved for premium suspension systems and components. This innovation reinforces its exclusive, distinctive, and high-performance character.Three exclusive finishes combining style and performanceThe new Shark® EVO brake rotor is available in three high-end finishes:Original Kashima: ideal for pairing with Fox Kashima components to achieve a first-rate aesthetic and technical setup.Black anodized: an elegant and versatile finish that easily integrates into any type of setup.Raw aluminum: a raw finish that reveals the CNC machining marks from the manufacturing process, without compromising strength or performance.Six Major Advantages1. New Shark braking surface: increased surface area, superior friction powerAn optimized design offering greater mass and contact area, ensuring more powerful and consistent braking.Compatible with all types of brake pads, including larger models, for a perfect fit.2. Superior cooling: better performance, reduced fadingAn increased number of cooling fins and vents allows for better temperature control, which is ideal for intense descents and extended use. Enhanced thermal stability and extended service life of the braking system.3. Superior Structural and Dynamic EfficiencyThe aluminum body, designed using topological optimization, is fully CNC-machined to deliver unmatched rigidity and precision.Aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminum alloy: lightweight and durable. The body and brake track are mounted coplanar, ensuring superior stability and exceptional performance, even under the most demanding conditions. Additionally, this guarantees uniform pad wear thanks to the symmetrical action of the two pistons.4. Genuine Kashima Coating: Exclusivity and DistinctionEnhanced durability and wear resistance. The Kashima treatment creates an ultra-resistant layer of hard anodized oxide, significantly improving wear resistance—a major advantage for the aluminum body exposed to extreme conditions—without compromising its integrity or performance.5. Optimized semi-rigid connectionThe connection between the body and the brake track, secured by 8 mm hollow aluminum rivets and an optimized semi-rigid joint, ensures exceptional force transmission between the two components, thereby maximizing performance and comfort.6. Full compatibility with e-bikesCompatible with speed sensor magnets, preserving all functionality of the e-bike system.Diameter: 180 mmWeight: 165 gThickness: 2 mmIntended Use: XC / EnduroType: Two-piece Shark® discSystem: 6-holeDiameter: 203 mmWeight: 175 gThickness: 2 mmUse: Enduro / DHType: Two-piece Shark® discSystem: 6-holeDiameter: 223 mmWeight: 195 gThickness: 2 mmUse: DH / E-BIKESType: Two-piece Shark® discSystem: 6-hole
