When every gram in your pack counts and space is at a premium, traditional rigid bottles can become a burden. The Hydrapak Stow 500ml offers a sophisticated solution for those who prioritize efficiency and speed on the trails. This flexible bottle is designed to be there when you need it and disappear when you don’t. Unlike standard hard-sided containers, the Stow can be flattened and rolled up once empty, fitting easily into pockets or small compartments in your running vest. This adaptability makes it an essential piece of equipment for long-distance treks, mountain runs, or even daily travel where bulky gear is not an option. +1
The ease of use is evident in its thoughtful design. The bottle features an integrated bail handle that makes carrying comfortable or allows for easy attachment to the outside of a pack using a carabiner. While drinking, the flexible TPU material collapses on itself, which significantly reduces the annoying sloshing sound of water during high-impact activities. This ensures a focused and quiet experience as you move through technical terrain. The spill-proof nozzle is easy to open and provides a high flow rate, allowing for quick hydration without having to stop or slow down your pace. +1
Technically, the Hydrapak Stow is built to withstand the rigors of the backcountry. It is constructed from heavy-duty TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) with RF welded seams, ensuring exceptional durability and elasticity. This construction is 80% lighter than most hard bottles, yet it remains tough enough to handle being squeezed or dropped. A key technical advantage is the 28mm screw cap, which is compatible with many water filtration systems. This allows you to fill up from streams and filter water directly through the bottle, making it a versatile tool for extended trips far from civilization. +2
The material is BPA and PVC free, ensuring that your water remains untainted by plastic tastes. It can handle a wide range of temperatures, from being frozen for use as an ice pack to holding water up to 60°C. The external capacity gauge allows you to track your hydration intake or measure out water for camp meals accurately. Despite its minimal weight, the shaped top and bottom provide enough structure to make it easy to hold and drink from, even when it isn't completely full.
