When developing the D2 rim profile, Shimano engineers took both headwinds and crosswinds into account to ensure optimal performance in real-world riding conditions. Extensive prototype testing in the wind tunnel and on the road showed that the wide rim shape and deep rim opening provide the best performance in a wide range of conditions. With approach angles from 0 to 15 degrees, the design The D2 rim reduces drag better than other aerodynamic rims. It also increases the wheel's lateral stiffness and improves vertical directional stability, which translates into greater control, comfort, and durability on the road. Includes two Presta valves.
