The Ultegra CS-R8101 features HyperGlide+ technology, which enables very quick and stable gear changes both when shifting up and down. This design minimises efficiency loss during shifts under heavy load, ideal for intense efforts in groups or competition.
Designed to be compatible with Shimano 11- and 12-speed freehub bodies, the CS-R8101 integrates easily into modern road drivetrains. The two offered ranges (11-30T and 11-34T) cover a wide spectrum of uses, from rolling profiles to tougher climbs.
The cassette pairs steel sprockets for wear resistance with an aluminium spider to reduce weight while maintaining stiffness. The stated weight is 291 g for the 11-30T version and 345 g for the 11-34T version.
Two sprocket sets are available to meet cadence and gearing needs: 11-12-13-14-15-16-17-19-21-24-27-30T or 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-24-27-30-34T. The close spacing on the smaller sprockets favours smooth transitions, while the 34T version offers extra gearing for steep climbs.
