The MSR Elixir 1 is engineered for solo explorers who want a shelter that feels spacious without carrying unnecessary weight. Setting up camp after a long day of trekking is effortless thanks to the freestanding system and color-coded poles, clips, and webbing. Whether you are navigating wind-swept ridges or quiet valleys, this tent provides a stable and comfortable base. The unique pole geometry is designed to maximize headroom, allowing you to sit up comfortably and organize your gear without feeling cramped. Inside, the tent offers a generous floor area that easily accommodates a large sleeping mat and personal items, making it a true home away from home.
The living experience is enhanced by thoughtful details that make solo trips much more convenient. A large StayDry door ensures easy entry and exit while preventing rain from dripping into the interior. Inside the tent, you will find integrated gear lofts and glow-in-the-dark zipper pulls that make it easy to find what you need during the night. The combination of breathable mesh and solid canopy fabric ensures optimal airflow while maintaining privacy and warmth when the temperature drops. The red vestibule is easily identifiable, providing a dedicated space to store your boots and backpack away from your sleeping area, ensuring your living space remains clean and dry.
Technical performance is at the core of this tent's design. The rainfly is made from 68D ripstop polyester with a 1500mm polyurethane coating, providing a reliable barrier against wind and rain. For the floor, 70D taffeta nylon with a 3000mm coating offers superior protection against ground moisture. The frame consists of 7000 series aluminum poles, which provide a high strength-to-weight ratio, ensuring the structure remains rigid even in challenging weather conditions. An included footprint adds an extra layer of protection for the floor and enables a lightweight setup option where only the fly and footprint are used for a minimalist shelter. These technical choices ensure that the tent remains a reliable partner for many seasons of exploration.
