The skandika Rian hammock tent is perfect for anyone who wants to sleep as close to the outdoors as possible. It combines the functions of a hammock, a bivvy tent and a rain poncho, so you’re ready for just about any outdoor situation. With its ultra-light weight and compact pack size, it offers hikers, trekkers, cycle tourers and campers a reliable, sheltered place to sleep after a full day of adventure.
Easy set-up In just a few minutes, the hammock tent can be comfortably tensioned between two trees using the robust nylon straps and carabiners, giving you maximum comfort off the ground. The ideal tree distance is between 3 and 4 metres. If there are no suitable trees nearby, Rian can also be used on the ground like a conventional tent.
Ultra lightweight Made from high-quality materials such as aluminium and nylon, combined with a smart construction and optimised cut, Rian weighs just 1.9 kg – feather-light for your next outdoor trip. Despite this low weight, it has a maximum load capacity of up to 200 kg and is suitable for users up to 190 cm tall.
Compact pack size With a pack size of only 44 × 18 × 13 cm, it fits easily into almost any rucksack for hiking, trekking or bikepacking tours. That means it’s always with you, giving you full flexibility and spontaneity for all your outdoor activities. The robust carry bag keeps the hammock tent clean and protected during transport and storage.
Premium materials The hammock base is made from 70D nylon, which is lighter than polyester and offers excellent tear resistance. The alloy aluminium poles provide a strong yet lightweight structure with high strength-to-weight performance and are highly corrosion-resistant. The 210T ripstop polyester rain cover is PU-coated and boasts a 3,000 mm water column for reliable rain protection.
Ultimate protection Rian offers dependable protection in a wide range of weather conditions. The fully integrated all-round mosquito net keeps midges and insects out – a real bonus in forests or near lakes and rivers. The rain cover, sewn-in base and a pitching height of 1.2 metres provide extra protection from rain, ground moisture and rising cold.
Practical extras A sleeve in the hammock base keeps a sleeping mat from slipping – it’s cut to fit and designed for our skandika Exclusive Air Single sleeping mat, available separately. Organiser pockets keep small essentials close to hand, and two hooks are ideal for hanging camping lights.
