The SM-RT86 incorporates IceTech technology, combining steel layers with an aluminium core to dissipate heat quickly. This reduction in temperature limits component wear and maintains consistent braking performance on long descents.
The rotor features a central aluminium layer sandwiched between two stainless steel layers. This design improves thermal conductivity, reduces the risk of overheating and contributes to better brake feel and more even pad wear.
The rotor's profile and drilling are optimised to expel mud and debris, reducing contamination and extending the life of the rotor and pads — particularly suited to demanding road and MTB use.
Designed for hydraulic disc brakes, the SM-RT86 mounts to a standard 6-bolt interface. 180 mm diameter, front and rear position, compound pads, weight approx. 134 g and supplied with the necessary mounting bolts.
