The Vango Mantis Planet is designed for the traveler seeking a lightweight and versatile solution during adventures in warm climates. Thanks to its compact dimensions, it fits effortlessly into any backpack, making it ideal for multi-day treks or cycling trips. The mummy shape ensures efficient body insulation, while the zip-around foot design allows the bag to be fully opened and used as a blanket during warmer nights.
What truly sets this model apart is the attention to comfort in insect-heavy environments. Integrated mosquito nets at both the head and foot sections provide a reliable barrier against biting insects without blocking airflow. The soft inner lining feels pleasant against the skin, and the ergonomic Omega shaping around the shoulders and head prevents heat loss while still providing enough room to rest comfortably.
Technically, this model excels through the application of Thermal Reverb and Thermal Embrace systems. Strategically placed aluminized layers reflect body heat effectively back to the user, maintaining optimal temperature without adding extra weight. The elasticated Thermal Embrace system ensures the lining sits close to the body, which reduces cold spots and increases thermal efficiency.
The 40D ripstop nylon shell is both light and strong, making it resistant to the challenges of intensive use. This fabric is also water-resistant and breathable, contributing to a dry and fresh climate inside. The included compression sack is fleece-lined and reversible; once filled with clothing, it transforms into a soft pillow, significantly increasing sleep quality without requiring extra luggage.
