What makes it special?
We created a reliable ball with a stable flight trajectory. Our priority: consistency. "What matters most is being able to put the ball where you want it every time."
Too light? Too heavy? The weight is standardised...
This ball weighs between 420 g and 445 g in size 5, in line with FIFA QUALITY PRO criteria for professional footballs.
WHAT IS THE KIPSTA CERTIFICATION TEAM?
We have a team of engineers who test our footballs, with specific protocols, qualified testers and statistical analyses. This process ensures the quality of the tested products.
It's all about the bounce
10 bounces on a steel plate from 2 m. Rebound height between 135 cm and 155 cm. Maximum difference between rebounds: 10 cm. FIFA QUALITY PRO standard.
How big is it? What's the circumference?
Between 68.5 cm and 69.5 cm in size 5. Complies with FIFA QUALITY PRO standards.
Our ball lab
Our balls have been tested by a dedicated lab for more than 15 years. Created in 2018, it performs more than 10 tests developed by FIFA or in-house.
Why this ball?
This thermobonded ball was designed for pro-level play. The microfibre component, foam and grooves offer a unique playing feel. This ball reflects our expertise and meets the needs of the most demanding players, especially goalkeepers. 100% exclusive Decathlon Kipsta design.
YOUR BALL HAS BEEN CHECKED BEFORE SHIPPING
All our balls are checked at the end of the production process. We assess them for technical compliance and perform destructive testing at our lab.
The durability of our balls
We developed a tool to measure ball durability during use. Each ball is evaluated using a panel of lab tests.
The Kipstadium, in Tourcoing, France
Our ball team is based at our Kipstadium in Tourcoing, France. The product, component and test engineers all work together to manage every step of the design process.
Did you say FIFA Quality Pro?
This ball has passed all tests required to receive the FIFA QUALITY PRO label. Each test is detailed in the product file.
A "round" ball?
Sphericity is measured at 4500 points. Maximum allowable variation: 1.5% (FIFA standard). If the score exceeds this threshold, we revise the design to ensure a consistent trajectory.
WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR THOUGHTS!
Your reviews are key. They help us improve every detail of our products. We love hearing your feedback!
Exclusive to Kipsta
Consistency makes all the difference. This ball was designed with exclusive geometry (12 panels), grooves and components that have been tested to provide optimal ball feel.
Not even a scratch!
2500 shots at 50 km/h against concrete. Seam durability, pressure, circumference, sphericity: we check everything. The ball has to take it all.
Designers as well as engineers
The visual DNA of this ball combines technical features and balance. It was designed to be easily visible when in motion.
KIPSTA, 2022–2027 OFFICIAL BALL SUPPLIER FOR LIGUE 1 MCDONALD'S AND LIGUE 2 BKT
Kipsta, a Decathlon brand, supplies the official balls to the Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT. Each ball is designed, tested and approved to meet the highest professional football standards. This partnership reflects our expertise, capacity for innovation and commitment to players and clubs.
Designed with the pros!
This ball is the product of years of R&D and was co-developed with players from the Ligue 1 McDonald’s and Ligue 2 BKT. It meets the specific needs of high-level players and goalkeepers.
WE ALSO TESTED THE BALL'S WATER ABSORPTION
Placed in 2 cm of water and compressed 250 times: maximum weight gain of 10%. Thermobonding reduces absorption much better than stitching.
Decathlon, the designer
Decathlon has been developing desirable and affordable products for 40 years. Our designs are universal, technical and smart and reflect our artistic vision.
MAXIMUM LOSS OF PRESSURE TEST: WHAT IT MEANS
Recommended pressure: 0.8 bar. The ball should not lose more than 15% pressure (≈0.1 bar) within 72 hours of inflation. This test ensures optimal pressure retention.
Designed in France
This ball was entirely designed in France and underwent rigorous lab and field quality testing. It meets all FIFA standards and was tested according to a specific testing protocol developed by Decathlon.
A beach ball?
This thermobonded ball features a 12-panel design with grooves and microfibre components for a stable flight trajectory that is more reliable than a classic stitched ball.
