The Curado MGL offers the perfect blend of technology, practicality, and cost. Located in the middle of the Shimano 'MGL' casting range, it is primarily designed for medium and light lures, making it a versatile machine that combines strength and sophistication. If you are looking for a high-tech casting reel at a mid-range price, capable of maximizing casting performance for medium and light lures while having the strength needed to tackle powerful fish, the Curado MGL will be your ideal reel. The tough choice you'll have to make will be whether to go for the 150/151 model or the more compact 71 model, which also offers a range of different speeds. Both are great and feature the same competition-tested technology, including the excellent MGL spool for optimal casting performance. So, it’s about deciding which size will suit your fishing best. In short, you really can’t go wrong with a Curado MGL. The combination of the lightweight HAGANE aluminum body, Micromodule gearing, and X-SHIP gives the Curado MGL durability, reliability, and performance. In fact, this technology line is also found on the high-end reels from Shimano, meaning you get a lot from the reel for this investment. But it’s the MGL spool that sets this model apart from the others. It requires less energy when casting, resulting in longer casts and the ability to use light lures more effectively. But don’t think this easy-to-cast beauty lacks the power needed to conquer the toughest fish. The Curado MGL is equipped with a powerful Cross Carbon drag, so when you need to tighten the screws, you can be sure you’ve got power in reserve to take control.
