Part of the famous JDM Ocea Big Game rods from Shimano, the Ocea Plugger Flex Drive is designed for long-range fishing targeting surface-feeding pelagic species such as tuna, GT trevally or tarpon. The progressive action optimizes the fishing action, while the power reserve in the tail ensures total control when maximum force is required. If offshore lure fishing for large pelagics is your passion, using swimbaits, stick baits or even poppers, the Ocea Plugger Flex Drive is the rod for you. With a more progressive action than most Ocea models, this amazing range comes into its own when fishing for highly combative fish, as the rod blank reacts instantly to increased force with a reassuring combination of flex and power. In extreme situations, the power hidden in the butt keeps you in total control and inspires confidence when you need it most. Long-range casting performance is maintained throughout the Ocea rod range and the progressive action of the blank optimizes the lure's action, especially when worked rapide and energetically. The progressive action blank of the Ocea Plugger Flex Drive is constructed from two of Shimano's most advanced carbon materials, Spiral X-Core and Hi-Power X, and also benefits from Nanopitch technology. These carbons work together to reduce the torsion of the blank when under pressure, resulting in significantly longer and more accurate casts, while also improving power when fighting. Equipped with a Fuji Titanium SiC K-Type starting ring and Fuji Stainless Steel SiC intermediate rings, optimized for maximum casting performance, the addition of an exclusive Shimano CI4+ non-slip reel seat allows you to generate maximum casting speed to reach fish feeding at a distance.
