The Therm-a-Rest NeoLoft is specifically engineered for those who refuse to compromise on sleep quality while exploring the great outdoors. With a staggering thickness of nearly 12 cm, this mattress creates a plush barrier that completely eliminates the feel of jagged rocks, uneven roots, or hard frozen ground beneath you. Its innovative 3D construction provides a generous, level sleeping surface from edge to edge, ensuring you never feel like you are sliding off the mat when you shift positions. This design is a game-changer for side sleepers who need extra depth to keep their hips and shoulders from bottoming out during the night.
The sensation of lying on the NeoLoft is unlike any other backpacking pad thanks to the world-first use of stretch knit fabric on the top surface. This material feels remarkably soft against the skin, similar to your favorite base layer, and features multi-directional elasticity that allows the pad to conform perfectly to your individual body shape. By locally adapting to your pressure points, it provides a cradling support that significantly reduces tossing and turning throughout the night. You will wake up feeling refreshed and energized, free from the typical back stiffness or pressure aches often associated with multi-day trekking expeditions.
On a technical level, the NeoLoft utilizes the advanced ContourCore Matrix™ to provide exceptional thermal performance without the bulk of traditional foam. This architecture features two stacked layers of triangular chambers that effectively block convective heat loss, paired with ThermaCapture™ technology to reflect your own body heat back to you. With a tested R-value of 4.7, this mattress is a true four-season powerhouse that keeps you warm and insulated even when the ground temperature drops below freezing. The integrated side rails act as a tactile guide, subtly keeping your body centered on the mat to prevent cold spots and accidental roll-offs.
Managing your gear is effortless with the high-performance TwinLock™ valve system, designed for rapid transitions in and out of camp. The system utilizes two dedicated one-way valves: one for lightning-fast inflation and another for nearly instantaneous deflation when it is time to pack up. By using the included high-volume pump sack, you can inflate the mat in moments without introducing moisture-rich breath into the interior, which helps maintain the integrity of the insulation. Despite its massive inflated size, the NeoLoft packs down surprisingly small, fitting easily into your backpack alongside your other essential gear for a streamlined journey.
