La Grosse Pomme a lancé la tendance du vélo ballon il y a 10 ans : un vélo confortable sans technologies de suspension coûteuses. Les pneus à coussin d'air sont utilisés comme suspension naturelle. À environ 2 bars, une moto-ballon roule merveilleusement bien et avec toute l'action de la suspension. Un pneu normal d'une largeur de 37 mm doit être gonflé à 4 bars pour rouler de manière comparable. La Grande Pomme convient aux vélos électriques avec une assistance au pédalage allant jusqu'à 25km/h. Pour les E-bikes plus rapides, les S-pedelecs, des pneus homologués jusqu'à 50 km/h sont recommandés.
