Carogna S double-sided adhesive for casing (16.5mm x 2m)

Carogna is designed and tested to work perfectly on any rim material (aluminum, carbon), with any type of tubular tire (seamless, handmade, vulcanized; with a flat bead or a raised center seam), on and off-road. The adhesion is very strong and uniform around the entire circumference of the rim for all tubular tires, and it is also uniform on the bead. A drawback of other gluing techniques is limited adhesion at the edges of the bead, or in the center, depending on the shape of the tire and rim. Carogna solves this problem thanks to specific adhesive properties on both the rim and tire sides. Carogna tape has two types of application-specific adhesives: Semi-structural but removable on the rim side: adhesion is guaranteed by an industrial-grade acrylic adhesive. When the tire is removed (by breaking its bond with the rim), the acrylic adhesive remains on the Carogna tape, not on the rim. Acrylic adhesive provides reliable adhesion to aluminum and carbon fiber. Permanent on the tubing side: A 1 mm thick layer of high-viscosity permanent adhesive (originally developed for underwater applications) will plastically deform and conform to the shape of the tubing's baseband when inflated, ensuring optimal contact surface for bonding. This adhesive adheres well to all types of baseband material (nylon, cotton, poly-cotton) or external finish (raw, brushed, or neoprene-coated). Resistance to a wide temperature range (during use) IMPORTANT: When bonding a tubing with Carogna tape, the workshop temperature must be between 21°C and 38°C (70 to 100°F). At this temperature, 80% of the bond strength is achieved after 8 hours, and 99% after 24 hours. Proper adhesion cannot occur at temperatures below 10°C/50°F. Once adhesion is established, riding with the tubular tire in low temperatures (down to -40°C/-40°F) is no problem. The heat resistance of all materials used in the manufacture of Carogna tires was a high priority: Carogna will ensure a perfect bond at 150°C (302°F) for extended periods (several hours), exceeding the heat resistance of the best sealants. We recommend cleaning the surfaces (rim and bead of the tubular tire) using isopropyl alcohol or white spirit.
