Product Description
Maximum Pressure and Compatibility
The maximum pressure for the Strip is 7 bar (100 psi), making it compatible even with wider road tires (from 28 mm wide).
Note for road and gravel cyclists looking for the right Strip for their wheels:
Wheels identified as 29" (for mountain bikes), 28" (for road bikes), and 700c all have the same rim diameter, 622 mm according to the ISO/ETRTO standard. Therefore, the appropriate Strip for 700c wheels is the 29" version.
Wheels identified as 27.5" (for mountain bikes) and 650b all have the same rim diameter, 584 mm according to the ISO/ETRTO standard. Therefore, the appropriate Strip for 650b wheels is 26/27.5".
Tubeless Conversion Made Easy
The Caffélatex Strip is the ultimate tubeless solution for very challenging rims (e.g., aluminum rims with a matte finish, rims with a very deep channel, pin-jointed rims where the joint is not welded, etc.). This is because the Strip is not adhesive: it is made in one piece and relies on its elasticity to hold firmly onto the rim.
Note: Unfortunately, the Strip will not work on asymmetrical rims with an off-center valve hole.
To convert a rim to tubeless, simply remove the existing rim tape, choose the appropriate Strip size, and follow these easy steps:
(OPTIONAL STEP) Use a roll of electrical tape and seal the spoke holes on the rim. This is just to create extra protection to prevent sealant from leaking into the rim. the inside of the rim's inner tube, in the unlikely event that the Strip shifts and leaks.
Insert a tubeless valve into the Strip's hole so that the rubber base is in contact with the Strip.
Secure the Strip to the rim by tightening the nut on the valve stem. It is important to push the valve base against the rim while doing this to ensure a proper airtight seal.
With the wheel and valve at the 12 o'clock position, finish mounting the Strip to the rim.
Using a screwdriver or similar tool, center the Strip inside the rim channel.
Add the tubeless tire, Caffélatex or Végétalex sealant, inflate, and ride.

Lightweight
Being thin (0.8 mm) and strong, the Strip weighs only 30 g (for the S 26″/27.5″). This makes it competitive in terms of weight with adhesive tubeless rim strips (which vary between 9 and 20 g per wheel) and simply superior to older butyl tubeless rim strips (with limited strength and adding over 65 g per wheel). The weights(*) for a single Strip are:
Strip S 26″/27.5″: 30 g
Strip S 29″: 33 g
Strip M 26″/27.5″: 36 g
Strip M 29″: 39 g
Strip L 26″/27.5″: 48 g
Strip L 29″: 53 g
Strip Plus S 26″/27.5″: 55 g
Strip Plus S 29″: 58 g
Strip Plus M 26″/27.5″ 68 g
Strip Plus M 29″: 72 g
Strip Plus L 26″/27.5″: 91 g
Strip Plus L 29″: 95 g
(*) Tolerance +/- 10% on the nominal weight.
High Resistance to Damage and Punctures
The special polymer used in its manufacture makes the Strip highly resistant to damage and punctures. It is also very chemically stable and cannot be damaged by Caffélatex or other non-chemically aggressive sealants.
WARNING: The use of sealants containing aggressive chemicals or ammonia, or cleaning the rim with aggressive chemicals, can damage the Caffélatex Tubeless Strip and pose a danger to the user. We recommend using only Caffélatex or Végétalex sealants, or inflation cartridges. and Espresso/Espresso Doppio repair with the Caffélatex Tubeless Strip.
Long Lifespan
Something you can do with the Strip that you simply can't do with adhesive tubeless rim tape: move the Strip from one rim to another.
Because the Strip's material is very durable, its lifespan can exceed that of the rim it's mounted on, and it can be removed and mounted on a different rim. The Strip can also be removed and mounted on the same rim if a spoke needs replacing.
