TESTS AND WARRANTY
Test product
Our Quechua global design centre is based in Passy, at the foot of Mont-Blanc in Haute-Savoie. This location means we can test our products on natural terrain. This hiking skort has been abrasion tested. Before being selected, the materials of the panels of the skirt and waistband were tested in our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory; then once designed, the skort has been worn with a loaded backpack for 10 hours of active walking.

This skort was tested and approved in April 2019 by a group of testers during a half-day hike on a coastal path on the island of La Reunion. In order to meet your requirements, Quechua products are tested in the wild in the conditions you encounter during your hikes. Our teams, along with a panel of testers (made up of partners, ambassadors and customers), test the products throughout their development.

The dyeing process does not use water because it is achieved with a machine using pressurized gas to set colour directly into the fabric.

MaterialRecycled polyester
Textile part made of 8% recycled polyester
We have incorporated recycled polyester into this product (instead of conventional polyester, which is itself derived from petrochemical plastic). What does this mean? In addition to being technical, this product has been designed taking into account its environmental impact: using recycled polyester means recovering and transforming products destined to be thrown away, such as production offcuts or plastic bottles, instead of using new oil resources.

Conventional cotton farming uses a lot of water, fertilizers and pesticides. This leads to degradation of biodiversity and pollution of soil and groundwater. Organic cultivation is produced without using chemical fertilizer, pesticides and GMOs (Genetically Modified Organisms), which reduces soil and ground water pollution.
