TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

How is waterproofing of the fabric measured?

The resistance of a fabric is measured by the height of a water column in mm that can be supported by the fabric (test based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the pressure, the more waterproof the fabric. The fabric of the 900 WARM padded jacket has a waterproof rating of 15,000 mm and is therefore resistant to the pressure exerted by 15,000 mm of water.

For skiing, we recommend components between 3000 mm and 20,000 mm.

How is the water resistance of a jacket measured?

To go beyond an indicative value of waterproofing, at Decathlon we test all our waterproof products in the laboratory. How do we carry out this test? We have an articulated model that wears the jacket and then spends a few hours under a shower.

Using this test, we can confirm that the jacket protects you from snowfall or a light rain shower equal to 3cm of water in half an hour.

How to dress to stay warm on the slopes?

To make sure you stay warm and dry, we recommend using the 3-technical-layer rule:

- Layer 1 or a second skin, to stay dry.

- Layer 2 or an insulating layer, to keep the heat in.

- Layer 3 or a protective layer to protect against the elements.

Because the 900 Warm jacket is very warm, we would only advise you to wear it with a second layer in case of extreme cold.

How is comfortable temperature measured?

We lab-test each of our products so that we can provide you with a indicative value on the item's comfort. This comfort indicator is measured without tights for trousers, and with a thermal t-shirt and a fleece for jackets. The measurement indicated is that of the external temperature in which the testers are neither warm, nor cold. Of course, this perceived temperature varies in line with the intensity of the activity and the metabolism of the individual.

This product is repairable

We commit to repairing your product free of charge for the duration of the warranty. Whatever it is, fixings, seams, zips, etc. This service is offered in your usual store. However, if we can't repair your product (production defect), we will exchange it or reimburse you.

All Wedze products are conceived, designed and developed in the Mont Blanc Valley. They are then tested under the same conditions as you would experience in real-life use (snow, cold, powder snow, etc). The design teams make sure that the programme for which the product is designed and developed corresponds perfectly to its use in the field.
