How does the electronic airbag work?
This body protector is an autonomous airbag system that functions without a cable. The In&Box, an electronic box located at the heart of the gilet, is the brains of the system. It encloses 6 sensors (3 accelerometers and 3 gyroscopes) that analyse the rider's position 1000 times a second. These data are analysed by predictive algorithms design to anticipate the impact of a fall (whether you are unseated or the horse trips) and trigger the airbag to deploy.
Competition regulations
In full eventing competition (CCE), an airbag body protector can only be worn as a supplement to a stiff body protector. This stiff body protector must be in compliance with current standards for the discipline, currently the standard CE EN 13158:2009 BETA level 3. Riders should ensure that the stiff body protector is worn underneath the airbag.
Standards and certification
CE CERTIFICATION - The Air Bag body protector has been tested by the CRITT lab and certified by Alienor Certification (organisation that certifies protective equipment).
Airbags are classified as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Complies with standard: NF S72-800 :2022 (the only standard developed for horse riding airbag body protectors).
Complies with standard: AMU-001 (for urban mobility).

Composition and electronic airbag body protector compatibility
The airbag body protector includes several elements: an airbag pocket, a gas generator ("inflator") and the "In&Box".
This body protector is only compatible with certified cartridge inflators co-created with In&Motion.
The only cartridge/inflator that can be used is: REF In&Motion INFLATOR IMI 7112 (model code 8955760).
Transport and storage precautions
The airbag body protector requires several precautions for transport and storage in order to preserve the technical components. It is essential that the protector be kept unfolded. In addition, it should not be exposed to high temperatures (extended time on the rear shelf of a car, for example). These precautions will ensure the proper functioning of the system.
Choosing the size
Size choice is a crucial element of your safety. Refer to the sizing table (available below in the product images). You should consider two measurements: your chest diameter and your back length.
Tip in case you are unsure: if your measurements suggest two different sizes (example: M chest, L back), we recommend always choosing the larger size (in this case, size L). This ensures protection and ease when riding.
Changing the cartridge
Important steps to follow to ensure the safety and proper functioning of the body protector:
Open the zip at the back of the airbag body protector
Remove the inflator from its mount
Unclip the connector (white cable) by pulling on the black ring
Unscrew the inflator
Completely empty all air from the body protector
Screw the new inflator back in and reconnect it
Re-mount the inflator in its support and close the zip
You can consult the video on the product page or scan the QR code on the gilet.
Protection areas
This airbag is designed to protect your upper body from impact (cervical spine, chest, abdomen, and back).
