Sizing and fit information
Slim fit. Inner volume means you can wear this jacket in combination with a 2nd-layer light, thin garment like a fleece or light down jacket.
Hood
When attached, height and depth are adjustable with elastic drawcord and toggles. Stiff visor for maximum face protection
Component waterproofing
We measure the waterproofness of the entire jacket.
The waterproofness of this fabric is 10,000 mm Schmerber: this means it resists the pressure exerted by a 10,000 mm water column (ISO standard test).
This jacket was also validated via a shower test reproducing the conditions of a thunderstorm, ie 100 L of water/M2/hour for 3 hours.

Component breathability
Aside from the breathability of the fabrics used, Quechua develops technical solutions (zips, air holes, mesh, etc.) to improve overall ventilation of all its jackets. These ventilation systems allow you to regulate the temperature inside the garment and also to facilitate the transfer of perspiration generated by the body during physical effort.
Component with coating or a membrane
A coating is like a kind of paint applied to the inside of the fabric that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It is often less costly than a membrane, and requires a lining for protection. The membrane is a kind of very thin film (polyurethane) that makes the component waterproof while remaining breathable. It has the advantage of being more flexible, lighter, more resistant and often more breathable than a coating.

Jacket 2.5 layers
2.5 layers: the membrane has inner protection with a kind of varnish coating rather than an actual layer to make it as lightweight as possible.

HOW TO RESTORE THE WATER-REPELLENT PROPERTIES OF MY JACKET?
The water-repellent property of a fabric is its capacity to make water run off its surface without absorbing it. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight and breathable. The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface, however this property may deteriorate with use.
All the steps to restore the water-repellent properties are below:

BREATHABILITY TEST
The breathability of a material is its capacity to wick away the water vapour generated by perspiration. During intense effort, it is, therefore, essential to wear very breathable clothing so you do not stay wet.
Breathability is measured by RET, the fabric’s evaporative resistance. The lower the number, the more breathable the fabric:
RET ≤ 6: very breathable fabric
RET ≤ 12: breathable fabric
RET ≤ 20: little or no breathability
