With the "3-in-1" system, the jacket will be ideal for cold conditions (down to -15°C) and for hot weather trips, because you can leave the inner layer at home and wear the rain jacket by itself.
You can also use the inner padded jacket on its own, as an intermediate layer over a T-shirt and sweater.

We test our fabrics in the laboratory based on various criteria including abrasion resistance.
To replicate the friction caused by the backpack straps, we perform a standardised Martindale test which involves rubbing the material of the jacket against another abrasive material. The aim is to measure the point at which the product starts to become worn & the pilling begins. The jacket easily passed the test reaching 20,000 cycles, which is above the average for the other jackets on the market.

... as well as good tear resistance
The jacket was also subjected to single rip tearing tests. The aim is to reproduce in a laboratory the effect of your jacket snagging on something outdoors and being ripped.
Using this test protocol, we check that the fabric doesn't rip any further after a hole is made in the fabric, so that it can still protect you for years to come.

COMPONENT WATERPROOFING OF THIS JACKET
The waterproofing of a fabric by a coating or a membrane is measured in Schmerbers or H20 mm (pressure of a water column). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.

TESTS AND WARRANTY
Test product
This jacket was first tested in the laboratory, on a whole set of factors (warmth, waterproofing, durability). It was then tested by a small panel of users, at the heart of our global development centre, to assess the comfort, fit and practical features.
Finally, it was validated in the field by volunteer-customers and users, as part of a test mission, just like a large number of Decathlon's products (check out our website)
