TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

About the Satelite Origin series

Satelite Origin is Babolat's mid-range series and is designed for intensive play. These rackets use Short Shaft technology and are lighter than the Satelite series, giving you more precision on all shots and better handling.

Weight

85 g +/- 3 g. The weight (actually the mass) is measured in grams. A badminton racket's weight ranges from 60 grams to over 100 grams and is classified into different "U" weight ranges. The lighter a racket is, the more manoeuvrable and comfortable it will be. It's also easier to swing and faster, although less powerful. On the other hand, a heavier racket will be more powerful but less comfortable.

Flexibility

Semi stiff.

Flexibility is defined as the shaft's capacity to bend while hitting. Shafts can range from flexible to rigid.A flexible shaft is more forgiving and will help you hit the shuttlecock further, although your shots will be slower. While a rigid shaft provides better propulsion, it requires a fast swing and is less forgiving.

Balance

even (290 mm +/- 5 mm).

Balance refers to the racket's weight distribution. It is indicated in millimetres and is measured from the base of the handle to the balance point. A head light racket will be more manoeuvrable and reactive, making it perfect for defensive and doubles players. Head heavy rackets will provide better power, the ideal choice for offensive players. However, they can feel heavy and difficult to swing.

Composition

HM Graphite.

The price of a badminton racket is affected by its composition. Steel and/or aluminium rackets are sturdy, heavy and better suited to recreational use. Graphite/aluminium and full-graphite rackets are lightweight and perfect for beginner and intermediate players. Rackets made from high-modulus graphite and other materials like tungsten are designed for advanced players.

Length

675 mm.The length of a kids' racket is measured in millimetres and varies according to the player's age. For kids aged 4 to 6, it's best to use a 540 mm racket, while for kids aged 7 to 11, a 620 mm racket is recommended. Once kids reach intermediate level, they should switch to using an adult racket.

Grip size

Size 2 --> G4 = medium (85‒89 mm)

Grip size is measured in millimetres. Grip size ranges from 75 mm to over 90 mm and is categorized into size ranges expressed in "G". While a larger handle is easier to hold, many players have difficulty changing their grip. A smaller handle is easier to wield and lets you put more power on the racket by using your fingers.

Original strings

These rackets come with Babolat iFeel 70 black strings with a gauge of 0.70 mm.

Pre-strung and recommended

Factory tension: 8-9 kg.

Tension recommended by the brand: 8-12 kg.

The rackets come with a tension that ranges between 8 kg and 10 kg, depending on tension losses that occur during transport. Each brand indicates a recommended tension, generally somewhere between 8 kg and 12 kg. This is to prevent the string or frame from breaking while stringing or hitting. Finally, some rackets have a reinforced frame that can withstand a tension of up to 16 kg.

4-knot stringing instructions.

Mains: start from top centre and string down to T13 (skip holes T8, T10, T12, B9 and B11) and tie a knot at T9. (same other side)

Crosses: start in the middle and string the lower crosses from B23 to B8 (skip B12 and B10) and tie a knot at B7. Carry on stringing the top crosses from T19 to T8 (skip T13, T11 and T9) and tie a knot at T6.

X-FEEL TEK

The same shape as the original X-Feel rackets, but with stiffer frames to stop them distorting and to give you more feel.

CARBON X-TREM

A denser carbon fibre mesh to stiffen the frame. Very little frame distortion for better control on every shot.
