Best to be used with an intermediate fly line, this streamer can be quickly animated but it's particularly effective with pauses between long pulls. The lack of weighting gives it a floaty swimming motion, which is often effective on the sought predator fish.
Instructions
The Texan hook is an excellent solution for fishing in crowded areas, but like the case for fishing with a soft lure on this type of hook, a few adjustments need to be made. In a very busy area, spike the hook tip through the fibres to pass it through back. In a moderately busy area, split the streamer's fibres on one side of the hook to stimulate striking at the moment of attack.
Customisation
By adding sinker line winding around the shank of the hook, you'll not only have a streamer that descends rapidly for optimal use with a floating fly line, you'll also get a swimming motion with more pronounced jerks.
