Storage cover
Built into the product.
Zip fastening. The mesh surface prevents the fabric from being ruined if the garment is folded up while still wet. Dimensions: L25 x H23 x D5 cm.
Waterproof component
We measure a fabric's resistance to a column of water in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure withstood, the more waterproof the fabric. A waterproof rating of 2000 mm means the fabric can withstand the pressure exerted by 2000 mm of water (the equivalent of a rain shower lasting for two hours).
Sizing information
Covering surface suitable for hikers between 167 and 190 cm tall and carrying a 0 to 75 litre backpack.
Product advantages
Small ballast pockets in the 4 corners allow you to weigh down the poncho (using small pebbles, for example) thus reducing flapping in the event of strong winds.
Inside leg pressure tab: to avoid the poncho getting caught in the wind when used without a backpack.
Fabric loops in the corners to transform the poncho into a makeshift shelter (or "tarp").
Easy dressing
Neckline opens with 1/2 zip under flap to make it easier to pull on over your head.
Waterproof garment
NOVADRY® technology: this garment has been subjected to a shower test using 100 litres of water/sqm/hour for 3 hours. This test reproduces the conditions of a violent storm in the mountains. Please visit Novadry.com for more information.
Hood
Height and depth adjustable with elastic drawcords and toggles. Shaped visor for maximum face protection.
Pockets
1 large pocket under rip-tabbed flap in the middle of the chest which converts into storage cover for the poncho + 2 under flap openings enabling easy access to jacket or trouser pockets.
Water repellent component
A fabric is water repellent when it allows water slide over its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from swelling, and keeps it lightweight, breathable and warm. This is achieved through a treatment applied to the fabric's exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment's lifetime (after every wash). Water repellent treatment products are available in our stores. All Quechua waterproof jackets have received a water repellent treatment.
Component breathability
To find out whether a fabric is breathable, we test its evaporative resistance or RET (based on the ISO 11092 standard). The lower the fabric's resistance, the more water vapour generated by physical activity evaporates, and the higher the fabric's breathability. For example: RET < 9 = extremely breathable fabric / 920 = little or no breathability.
Safety
Retro-reflective stripe on the back for greater visibility in the event of night walking on roadsides.
