TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Experience

The 580 is ideal for all experienced skiers. The adjustment of the Flex (Index 70 or 80) means that you can choose between a more tolerant and a more sporty boot. You have the option of widening the top of the upper to fit the shape of your calf. The medium volume is suitable for most foot shapes while providing a very good compromise between comfort/support. The shell provides excellent coverage of the shins and spreads the weight very well.

You choose your pace!

Flex adjustment

The Flex adjustment of the 580 is very effective:

Using a key, switch from the "Softer" position (more flexible and therefore more tolerant) to the "Stiffer" position (more rigid and therefore more precise/responsive).

Example: start your ski holiday in the "Softer" position to get your feel back and keep some physical energy in reserve, then switch to the "Stiffer" position for a more sporty end to your stay.

The ideal boot for improving and taking you to the next level.

CALF ADJUSTMENT

The Women's 580 has a flared upper that fits more easily around women's calves. We added an additional setting: under the strap are 2 screws (adjust delicately with a key) than can add up to 2 cm to the calf circumference.

This gives every skier the ability to adjust the width of the calf according to their body shape, and above all, reduce any discomfort in this area as much as possible.

HOOK ADJUSTMENT

The 580 has 4 aluminium micrometric buckles for powerful and precise tightening. You can adjust the length of the buckle by screwing or unscrewing it in order to personalise the tightness of the fit. The 2 top buckles have 3 positions to fit every size of calf (one of which doesn't require tools). A wide, adjustable strap at the top of the upper makes for strong and easy closure at the top of the shell.

WHAT IS THE FLEX?

To provide an indication of boot rigidity, brands assign a flex rating to every boot. This figure indicates the rigidity of the boot: the higher its value, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 60 is designed for skiers at beginner level. A flex from 70 to 90 is for intermediate skiers. Beyond that, the products are aimed at advanced skiers. Heavy builds can, however, go up a level.

How do you know if the boot you are trying on is the right size?

Once the foot is in the boot, fasten the buckles to the midpoint. Can you go further? This means the volume of the boot isn't right for you. Once the boot is closed, you must flex the boots 3 times by pressing hard on the shins (put your hands on your knees to help) and push your heel backwards inside the boot. Stand upright: your foot should touch the end of the shell. When you flex, your foot should move backwards so you can no longer feel the end.

What should you do if you experience foot pain?

1- Choose a technical ski sock that's thin so it prevents pressure points and promotes blood circulation in the foot.

2- Choose a sole adapted to the shape of your foot to prevent it from being squashed and pressing against the shell. Ask a salesperson in store for advice.

Is my liner thermoformable, and what use is thermoforming?

The 580's liner is thermoformable at the ankle bone. Although thermoforming is not essential, it can help to reduce areas of discomfort.

This means that the foam of the liner can heat up to fit to the shape of your feet and the shell of the boot. This improves foot/liner/shell compatibility and reduces areas of discomfort.

How to store your ski boots?

1- Air your boots by removing the liner that is inside the plastic shells.

2- Fasten the buckles at the first notch to prevent the boots from becoming deformed and, if possible, store them in a boot bag.

3- If possible, store them in a dry place where the temperature will not drop below 10°C. The boot's plastic will thank you for it!
