The Catana Trolling Lite is designed for trolling with live bait and small lures. It is available in four power ratings, from 6 to 20 lbs. The all-carbon blank is remarkably fine, very sensitive and has a semi-parabolic action to compensate for the use of light line. If you've never tried trolling with light line, you should give it a try - it's great fun and can be exceptionally effective for small pelagic species. Unfortunately, few charter boats offer this type of fishing, but with the price of a Catana Trolling Lite lower than that of a day's boat fishing, it's never been easier for you to own your own specialized rod. And if you have access to a small boat, try trolling for smaller species such as sea bass, bonito and even mackerel.The Catana Trolling Lite is made from Full Carbon, which explains why the blank is so thin and feels so light and responsive. In the lighter versions, the semi-parabolic action is great fun to use, while the more powerful models have plenty of power for medium-sized pelagic species. Interestingly, Seaguide's stainless steel rings are 'spiral-mounted' on the blank. This configuration, which is significantly different from that of a traditional ring mounting, the so-called 'Brazilian' spiral mounting - the rings are mounted by rotating them around the blank. This has the advantage of making the blank more stable when fighting fish. The result is better line movement and more fighting action pure. A lightweight aluminium reel seat complements the EVA front handle and ensures maximum comfort and safety when fighting big fish.
