TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

1 - The high-end made-to-measure 900 waxable classic cross-country ski!

You are addicted to cross-country skiing, you practice it intensively and you are technically proficient.

You take a real pleasure to prepare your skis before an outing to optimise its performance.

The 900 waxable ski is the best ski for those seeking performance and tailor-made preparation.

A technology that combines glide performance, low weight and power for starting your first competitive events!

2 - A special camber for a personalised ski!

CC skis have a camber whose function is to make the ski springy and resist the downward force of the skier's weightTo provide grip in classic cross-country skiing, the ski must bend under the weight of the skier said that the grip zone is in contact with the snowHowever, in order to glide, the grip zone must no longer be in contact with the snow.It is important to choose the correct ski camber according to one's weight and level of ability in order to obtain the right combination of grip & glide

3 - Choosing the right SIZE

The size of a cross-country ski is chosen according to your level of ability and your weight

Waxable 900 classic ski =

SOFT CAMBER

- 45 to 55 kg = 188 cm

- 55 to 65 kg = 195 cm

MEDIUM CAMBER

65 to 75 kg = 195 cm

75 to 90 kg = 202 cm

HARD CAMBER

- 90 to 120 kg = 202 cm

- 100 to 130 kg = 207 cm

If you are between 2 sizes:

- For more comfort, choose the lower size to ensure the ski is more manoeuvrable.

- For more intense use = choose the larger size

4 - WAXABLE grip zone – the tailor-made solution to optimise your performance !

The grip of a cross-country ski corresponds to the area located in the centre of the base (underside of the ski).

This provides the "grip" needed to avoid slipping in uphill sections while delivering smooth glide performance on flat or descending terrain.

There are 3 systems: fish scales, grip wax or skins.

The 900 wax ski has a waxable base that perfectly adapts your grip to the snow conditions and terrain.

5 - XCELERATOR PRO MOVE bindings – the high-end technical bindings!

All of our skis are sold with Rottefella bindings that are compatible with the NNN, prolink and Turnamic standards.

The waxable 900 skis have the Rottefella XCELERATOR MOVE binding which puts the foot in the ideal position and delivers just the right amount of energy from the foot to the ski.

It uses the move system for adjusting your ski bindings!

6 - A sintered base, for a superior glide performance

The base is the part of the ski in contact with the snow. It is made of polyethylene (HDPE), which can be exploited or scented during the manufacturing process.

The base of the 900 ski is made of sintered HDPE, which is a plastic powder of a high molecular weight that is heated, compressed and cut into a plate.

This process produces a more dense base and delivers superior glide performance and robustness.

7 - Waxing, the secret to robustness

When buying the skis, prepare the base so that it has optimal glide performance. Wax it several times consecutively so that the base is properly "nourished".

To maintain the performance of your skis, don't forget to wax them regularly!

To wax your skis, check out our tutorials on our Inovik YouTube channel or make an appointment in your Decathlon workshop.

GLOSSARY = Construction of a ski

Our skis are designed using a "sandwich" process: by layering different materials in the core of the ski and across its entire width.

The final product is assembled with a press.

CORE = the centre of the ski: wooden (solid or with channels) or composite (honeycomb or Nomex®)

BASE = Part in contact with snow: it is made of sintered or extruded high density polyethylene (HDPE).

GRIP = grip area under the ski

SIDECUTS = width of a ski at the nose, waist and tail
