Thanks to its slight arch, the bit ideally rests in the mouth. Pulling on the reins changes the angle of the mouthpiece in the mouth, its special shape leading to multiple effects on the lower bars and the tongue. The shaped connection between the mouthpiece and the rings prevents any pinching of the lips while stabilising the lateral support of the bit.
